Read My Pins and Faberge at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana

This week the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art, in Santa Ana, opened the new exhibit Read My Pins – The Madeleine Albright Collection, occurring now until January 13th, 2013.  Madeleine Albright was U.S. ambassador to the United Nations as well as U.S. Secretary of State in the 90s and early 2000s. The concept follows how Albright used her jewelry to convey foreign policy messages. Her pins were her diplomatic signature. Come to the Bowers to see the stories and messages behind each of these brooches.

Also, while there, check out Faberge: Imperial Jeweler to the Tsars going on now until January 6th, 2013. Faberge was the jeweler to the Russian Royal Family and is best known for his Easter Eggs. The House of Faberge also created jewelry, cigarette cases, tiaras, clocks, and picture frames. One of the best exhibitions going on right now, if not the best.
