Located on University Drive in Irvine near the 405, Tanaka Farms let’s folks choose pumpkins right off the patch that they grew on. Open everyday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Tanaka Farms (also called Strawberry Farms) is a great place for any age. No admission or parking charge. They have wagon rides ($5), a petty zoo ($3), and corn mazes (free) for children. They have games, arts, crafts, and food on weekends. The U-Pick vegetables and pumpkins are priced by the lb. Tanaka Farms sell small to extremely large pumpkins. Due to the many tours for children they host, the larger pumpkin patches are closed off with orange plastic mesh, but are not closed off to buyers–just step over the orange plastic! Wheelbarrows are off to the side so don’t worry about lugging those suckers around. Come early to get the best pick of the crop (and receive a free pack of pumpkin seeds with purchase!).
